I haven't had much time to write lately because I have been quite busy working on a bunch of wedding contracts. - Sorry.... But dates are filling up faster and faster as the summer months are approaching. Some people shop around, others book in a hurry. It really depends, but so far weddings are about the only thing I keep getting requests. So I've been busy consulting and writing the contracts. I haven't done much model portraits, food, or real estate photography - i guess the demand is lacking for that in this economy.
In either case I did manage to grab some cool shots last week in a martial arts test that I helped run. However, some of the pictures I can not post due to model release forms not being signed by the under 18 candidates.
Here is a cool shot that I can post:

Photographing this event was one of the hardest sporting events I had to photograph so far. It's not so much that it was fast speed action like a race car, or a hockey puck, but more so because the trees that the runners ran under had patches of light. So at some points I had a patch of light on one runners face and not the other, or there was more light on the left side of the body and not the right. I didn't want to use the flash to fill the light in either so I wouldn't distract the runners. However the cool part about the event was I could get really close to the runners to get some awesome portrait shots and those came out fantastic.

I had a fun time photographing the district swim finals in Bradenton, FL. They had a bunch of teams show up for this event doing relays as well as diving. This was the first time I photographed a swimming sporting event but it was a blast. Sadly I did get sun-burned because I forgot to bring my sun screen. I also met a couple of other cool photographers over there and I met one of my teachers from HIGH SCHOOL ! What a SURPRISE! And she was even interested in a website development package for her class. All in all the swim meet went well. My favorite was the diving portion and freestyle which is where I snapped up this awesome shot below.
